MYTHS, STORIES & INSPIRATION
A Japanese Buddhist would associate Zen very differently from other beings. Zen is specifically the practice of Japanese Mahayana Buddhism which focuses on meditation and intuition as apposed to the study of scriptures and worship.
Zen gardens are always on a white background and epitomise simplicity and order in their structure, bringing about peace and calm
The same could be said for taming the busy mind during meditation. To focus on one object or repeat one mantra, to declutter in order to create mindfulness, calm and peace.
A simple soap can be very beautiful.
I decided to create 4 Zen soaps using my own intuition and focusing on aspects of nature, which in my mind, instill a sense of peace. Only those who love a horse will understand why it has to feature.
Uncluttered with colour, simple in design, 2 of whom have an accent of only 1 other colour or focus point.
Only one major ingredient being organic unrefined coconut oil and addition of the rich coconut cream.
Only one essential oil, being Lavender, whose properties are well known to calm a mind and instill peace.
